KRS Classic Days „Classics on Land, Sea and in the Air” was held between 4-6th of October 2019 in Siófok. On the first day the participants took part in a sailing competition. The winner was Kishamis, the oldest sailboat of lake Balaton, which was built in 1896 and now it is under heritage protection.
On Saturday the cars were the main attraction. They had to follow the route specified in the roadbooks, through the varied and peaceful lands of Somogy County. The organizers made the drivers’ and navigators’ mission even more challenging with different quiz questions, 1/100 timing and other tricky tasks. Participants also had chance to take a break at cultural stopovers like the impressive Hertelendy Castle, Rádpuszta Gastro Adventure Manor and Szent László National Memorial Park in Somogyvár. The city rallye ended with a gala dinner, where winners were announced in different categories. The main recognition was received by Gusztáv Zsellér and his team, who were driving a beautiful Mercedes from 1972. Congratulations!
On the closing day the participants crossed the lake by ferry and while enjoying the driving also could admire the beauty of the scenery of the northern region of Lake Balaton. Lunch was held at the Keszthely Castle. The majestically rolling oldtimers at the castle’s courtyard attracted a lot of attention. After the lunch and museum tour the cars headed to Csopak, St. Donat Winery and at this beautiful place the event came to an end.
